Articles for the Club magazine

Covers 309, 311, 312, 314 and 319

What did I do?

I was part of the editorial team for the 24 issues of the Clube Curitibano magazine, from issue 302, in August 2023, to issue 325, in December 2025, including the move to monthly with issue 307, in July 2024. I edited and proofread the monthly issues and wrote 91 bylined articles, 6 of them cover stories. Story ideas came from the calendar, meetings, requests from departments and my own suggestions, and being close to the departments gave me a view of what was happening at the Club and the directions each subject could take.

I researched archives, old magazines, the library, minutes, reports and interviews and with the Engineering team, and checked data, dates and names against more than one source before publishing. On technical topics, such as construction work, and sensitive ones, such as atypical motherhood and inclusion, I understood the context of each person and each area and translated it for members with tact. With the monthly magazine, production became continuous, with story planning, reporting, writing, proofreading, approval, layout and printing every month.

What skills does this show?

Research and reporting, multi-source fact-checking, magazine journalism, long-form writing, institutional memory, editing and management of a monthly editorial workflow.

What results did I deliver?

I had bylined articles in 22 of the 24 issues, 31 in 2024 and 57 in 2025, the first full year of the monthly magazine, as well as 140 photo credits, with my photos on covers 309 and 314. In all, 212 of my texts were printed in the magazine, 141 of them with 70% or more of the original text. The monthly issues averaged 117.6 pages with a print run of 10,000 copies. In special issue 323, on the administration, my text was the basis for 30 of the 56 pages.

What's the story here?

The magazine of a club founded in 1881 began coming out every month, and research was what allowed me to keep the pace with precision and reconnect members with the institution's history. For Poty Lazzarotto's centenary (305), I wrote from the historical research of Thais Souza, the Club's cultural activities advisor. The article brought together the works the Club commissioned from the artist, such as the Monumento à Gralha Azul, from 1982, and the mural O Clube e a Cidade, from 1985. For Leonardo Macedo's cover (311), I traced the athlete's path from the Club's pools to the unprecedented medal in Hong Kong. The most extensive research was for special issue 323, in which I reconstructed three years of the administration's improvements, in an issue that recorded more than 120 construction projects. Feedback from members, interviewees and directors was constant, and many said they saw themselves in the articles.
